New structure of the Ministry of Education

The Minister of Education has agreed to the implementation of an amendment to the Ministry of Education structure per. 1 March 2011. The amendment provides the basis for realizing the adjustment needs of the ministry of internal funds, while ensuring continued assignments of high quality. The new structure is based on desire: * to strengthen the coherence of education management between and across fields of study * to reduce duplication in the organization by consolidating parallel functions * to achieve a stronger and more efficient handling of cases concerning, among other supervisory matters and IT tasks and process specialization and additional expertise in problem solving * to provide a structure with fewer departments * to concentrate responsibility for overall policy development, anchoring of interdisciplinary projects and coordination somewhere.

With the new structure established three agencies where one agency performs tasks related to the content of education and administration, including support schemes (Training Agency), a single agency responsible for quality and regulatory tasks (Quality and Supervision Agency) and one board performs tasks related to IT solutions for the education sector ( UNI-C), as well as a department with three branches and an international secretariat.
